The challenges of free trade and digitization were the outstanding topics of the Foreign Trade Day. At the invitation of the Federal Foreign Office, the German Healthcare Export Group e. V. (GHE) and six other trade associations, around 280 registered industry representatives from medical technology, pharmaceuticals, laboratory technology and politics met on 20th March in Berlin.
Digitization will play a key role in the fight for international competitiveness and will change our society. But digitalization can only be shaped jointly throughout the EU – so a key statement.
In the forum “Gulf Region – Political Flanking as an Instrument for the Health Industry” organized by the GHE, it was clearly shown that German medical technology enjoys a good reputation in all countries of the Gulf region and is (still) the “gold standard”. In order to successfully adapt to the current changes, it was recommended to consider new models and to enter into innovation partnerships.
