The German Healthcare Export Group (GHE) e.V. brings approx. 50 innovative and strongly growing companies from the area of medical technology, which are strongly export oriented, together. The GHE provides these member companies with a platform for exchanging their export business experiences.
The GHE offers customers a wide variety of products and services, from OP equipment to hospital IT, and covers almost the entire medical technology product range.
All in all the association represents around 80 percent by volume of all German exports in the medical technology sector.

aap Implantate AG, a medical technology company listed in the Frankfurt Stock Exchange’s Prime Standard segment, generated EUR 9.9 million in sales (previous year: EUR 6.5 million) in the first three months of financial year 2012, which was a 51% increase on the previous year’s first quarter. This strong sales growth was due mainly to an 18% increase in product sales to EUR 7.7 million (previous year: EUR 6.5 million) and to revenue from the conclusion of an exclusive license agreement worth EUR 2.2 million with a world-leading medical technology company. Neonatologists recommend volume-targeted ventilation for premature babies (05/14/2012)
Volume-targeted ventilated premature babies have a higher survival rate and suffer less ventilation-related lung damage – this is the result of a survey amongst international neonatologists.1/2 In a technical paper, the experts demonstrated the advantages of this type of ventilation using Volume Guarantee mode (VG) from Dräger.3 Integrated into the ventilators for premature babies, such as the new Babylog VN500, the VG prevents the baby's lung from over-distension. more …
51% sales increase to EUR 9.8 million in the first quarter 2012 (04/03/2012)
Preliminary figures indicate that aap Implantate AG (XETRA: AAQ.DE), a global medical device company focused on innovative trauma products and biomaterials for the orthopaedic market, achieved total sales in the first quarter of 2012 of EUR 9.8 million, a 51% increase on the previous year’s figure of EUR 6.5 million. The sales growth was driven by an 18% increase in sales on product level to EUR 7.7 million (previous year: EUR 6.5 million) as well as from the sales of EUR 2.1 million from the exclusive license agreement with a world-leading medical technology company announced on March 23, 2012. Based on the sales on product level in the first quarter 2012 and the Company’s goal of achieving profitable growth, the Company anticipates that EBITDA growth on product level in the first quarter 2012 will be stronger than the sales increase on product level. more …
Siemens awarded large-scale service contract in Australia covering 6,000 items of medical technology equipment (05/10/2012)
In a 1.3 billion Australian Dollar partnership between the Western Australian Department of Health and the services company Serco, Siemens has been subcontracted by Serco to provide a Managed Equipment Service (MES) for the new Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Australia. Consequently, Siemens will be providing services that will manage procurement, installation, maintenance, and regular system replacements of diagnostic and treatment equipment for the next 15 years. more …
