GHE - session in Isny: How much potential lies in Africa?

BONN. The country focus of this year's summer meeting of the GHE, which was held on 20.05.2009 in Isny at the invitation of the company Hilotherm, was Africa/ Sub Sahara. In addition, a new member was admitted. The company Weiss Klimatechnik is now member number 52.
After a personal welcome by the mayor of the city Argenbühl, Mr Josef Köberle, an assessment of the medical market in Africa were given by different speakers. And they were in agreement: the market offers good prospects for German companies. Mr Wolfgang Christian from Siemens documented that the medical market in Africa offers much potential. Just the challenges to fight AIDS and malaria provide an opportunity for German companies. There are many opportunities for German firms to participate in the development of the country. In addition the private market will become increasingly important.
Afterwards an exchange of experiences between the GHE members followed. There particular problems of the medical market in Africa were explained and discussed. Everybody agreed that the markets from the German perspective are not yet sufficiently developed and there is discretion to act.
