HAMBURG. With its new MODUL CPAP Weinmann puts safe and reliable CPAP therapy in the hands of rescue workers and emergency doctors at the scene of an emergency.

Use of CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy quickly results in an immediate improvement in oxygen uptake in the case of cardiac pulmonary edema. MODUL CPAP thus contributes greatly to the rapid stabilization of the patient.

André Schulte, manager of the Business Unit Emergency at Weinmann: “MODUL CPAP is extremely robust and easy to use. CPAP therapy can be ideally adjusted to the individual needs of emergency patients. That is an important prerequisite for fast and reliable care of patients at the scene of an emergency.” MODUL CPAP is designed for the maintenance, management and monitoring of the CPAP Boussignac valve. The valve, which has already achieved worldwide acceptance in rescue services, is distinguished by high CPAP performance and simple operation. Patients appreciate the open construction of the CPAP Boussignac valve, which lets them breathe easily without restriction and take in as much air as desired. High pressure constancy over the entire therapy range and delivery of 100% oxygen quickly lead to positive therapy results even without the use of invasive methods.

MODUL CPAP is also flexible. It fits on Weinmann’s LIFE-BASE portable system and has an alternative quick-coupling for additional oxygen supplies (Walther or AGA; optionally available with bayonet, AFNOR).
