HAMBURG. With the new ventilator MEDUMAT Easy CPR, the medical device manufacturer Weinmann gives trained First Responders even more support with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation at the scene of an emergency.

Users are assisted by the integrated voice prompts, visual and audio alarms and the option of triggering a breath manually. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a challenge even for trained First Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition to correctly alternating ventilation with chest compressions, they also have to make sure that the patient is given the ideal ventilation volume at the right ventilation pressure.

MEDUMAT Easy CPR helps here by letting the user set the ventilation volume and pressure specifically for each patient. In CPR mode a metronome provides the correct timing for chest compressions and the voice prompts lead the user through the resuscitation process. With the help of MEDUtrigger, which lets the user manually trigger a breath at the mask, rescuers can give their full attention to the patient.

Product Manager Tobias Kalwa said, “For trained First Responders and EMTs who don’t have routine practice, cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a great challenge. Now for the first time with MEDUMAT Easy CPR, they have an emergency ventilator that guides them through the process with spoken instructions. With the option of triggering a breath manually, the device is perfectly integrated in the process – a benefit for rescuers and patients alike.”
