LENZKIRCH. ATMOS is a globally operating company therefore their participation at the MEDICA in Düsseldorf is compulsory. On an exhibition booth of 108 m² ATMOS presented their products to the customers, partners and interested parties from all over the world.
In 17 exhibition halls over 4,000 exhibitors presented their products to the interested specialized trade visitors. The 140,000 expert trade visitors came from approx. 100 different countries worldwide. The Medica is the “world’s largest medical technology fair”.
The ATMOS booth was really in demand with an exhibition team of round about 25 ATMOS employees, above all with the Managing Director, Peter Greiser, and with the support of the 10 subsidiaries as well as representatives from 70 different countries, together they were well able to cope with the crowd of interested visitors.
ATMOS used the Medica, not only as a platform to present their existing products but also to introduce their new product developments. In the business range ENT the ATMOS S 61 Servant was presented once again, this is a workstation which still arouses a lot of interest by worldwide customers. Therewith the leading position of ATMOS in the ENT global market will expand even further.
In the business range Gynaecology ATMOS presented the only complete gynaecological workstation ATMOS S 41 Gyne for the early diagnosis of cervical carcinoma (cervical cancer). This a “hot“ diagnosis topic which is of increasing importance. In addition the ATMOS S 351 Natal was displayed. This is the worldwide unique microprocessor-controlled suction device for obstetrics. Therewith it is possible to deliver the baby gently with the help of an extraction cup, even during extremely difficult births.
In the business field Surgery the new computer-controlled thorax drainage device was launched – very important after pulmonary and cardiac surgeries. The ATMOS S 041 Wound was also presented - this is a sensor-controlled wound drainage for various applications. With this device patients with open wounds achieve a rapid mobilisation, therefore fewer changes of dressings as well as effective wound cleansing and healing. Another positive effect is due to the accelerated wound healing lower costs occur for the health system!
In the business field Care the new generation of battery-operated suction devices ATMOS C 161 / C 261 (respiratory tract suction devices for people suffering from swallowing problems, e.g. after an apoplexy, resp. for persons with a trachel cannula) were launched. These suction devices are above all appreciated by the health insurance companies because with them the high costs for reprocessing and therefore the costs which the health insurance companies have to bear can be explicitly reduced.
On the last day ATMOS received a special honour: 30 of the 4,000 exhibitors were presented with an award for their 40-year participation at the event, ATMOS was one of the recipients! It is a hand painted conventionalised logo of the MEDICA in a matching painted wooden case. This award will definitely find a place of honour in the company building.
At this years’ MEDICA one could really feel the economic crisis. A lot of prestigious and leading companies from this sector choose not to participate this year. “Not to attend” was never an issue for ATMOS. The medical technology company sells their products in over 70 countries worldwide. Due to the active participation of the international partners one could see that the interest in ATMOS products continues.
